DAY 1

It is an oasis in the desert; in the pool we will cool off the trip, and at Wellcome dinner, we will have a unique added value: it has its own garden, so many of the dishes that will be served here are prepared with freshly picked vegetables.

ARRIVAL AND NAVARRE – DESIGN HOTEL OR CAVES

Pick up at the Bilbao airport and transfer to Navarre.Arrival at the design hotel and welcome dinner. Bubbles In this world-renowned hotel for its design and architecture, we sleep in the Bubble rooms, where you will enjoy the desert, the dawn, the moon, the stars.

Caves: This hotel offers all the comfort required of a thee-star hotel. We sleep in the caves rooms,where you will enjoy the desert, the dawn, the moon, the stars. It is an oasis in the desert; here, we will discover how our ancestors lived, in contact with nature and in a very special rural environment, at the gates of a curious desert. All the caves are equipped with air conditioning and heating, so that the stay is as comfortable as in a luxurious hotel. Dinner at the hotel. A memorable experience.

DAY 2

CYCLING TOUR IN THE DESERT

The sky full of stars. The sound of nature. The whisper of the wind. Dawn.We will make a bicycle route in the most beautiful desert in Europe, crossing its imposing canyons and gorges, with our mountain bike or electric bike (for non-habitual users of bicycle), full day of adrenaline and fun with a picnic in route. At the end of the day we will pass to our next destination, where unique moments await us. Accommodation in Rioja.

DAY 3

We started the day with a delicious breakfast . In the morning, we will go to San Felices Hike. This is a famous hermitage, named one of the best places of Spain 2014. The ascent to this hermitage will surely leave no one indifferent for its beauty and for the spectacular landscape that leaves at its feet, a panoramic of vertigo that impresses and shortens the breath. At the top of the hill we take a break to enjoy the views of the vineyards and take photos.

After this short walk (1 hour) we will visit one of the oldest wineries in Spain, with sixty century cellars. This winery is born of the passion of a family of wine growers that has been working for more than four generations, growing grapes and making their own wines. Inside the winery we will do a wine tasting with the owner, and will finished the visit with a delicious picnic (traditional meal).

Free time in in the medieval town of Haro, with its narrow streets dotted with stately homes, and the highest concentration of wineries in Europe, considered among the best in the world. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.

DAY 4

CANYONS, WATERFALLS AND MEDIEVAL FORTRESS

Today we will move to an amazing Natural Park to make a magnificent route between canyons and waterfalls, home to a great diversity of landscapes an ecosystems, is the smallest natural park but stands out because its great beauty.

The water of the river is the jewel of the Natural Park, where we can take a bath in his crystalline waters. We will walk an important Roman Road that passed through the gorge river, which connects the Castilla plateau and the north of Iberian Peninsula. During the route there will be a sighting activity of the griffon vulture. We will have a picnic with a local products.

On the way back, we will stop in a surprising medieval village, with an ancient bridge. Free time to walk up to the fortress and to enjoy the bars and gastronomy of the place.

DAY 5

 

VISIT GAME OF THRONES COSTAL ROUTE (SAN JUAN DE GAZTELUGATXE) AND BEACH.

After the breakfast, transfer to the Basque Coast.Can you imagine a route that takes you on a passage through history and shows you beautiful views? We will visit the Urdaibai biosphere reserve and iconic areas such as San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

Gaztelugatxe has been the scenario of pirates covens and legends and it is no coincidence that it accumulates titles of “most voted wonder” or “most valued” enclave by travellers from around the world. Do not forget to ring the hermitage bell three times in order to attract good luck and chase away evil spirits.

The long and steep staircase that connects the island to the coast can be rather challenging, nobody knows its actual number of steps but everyone agrees that the climb is more than worth it. Above you awaits a picturesque hermitage and spectacular views over the wild Cantabrian sea that has carved cliffs, tunnels and impossible arches in the island.

BEACH

After short walk in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, transfer and free time on the beach. Optional surf lessons, paddle board or canoes.

BILBAO

We will sleep in Bilbao. Free time to visit the city and introduce you Bilbao’s surroundings; the Guggenheim Museum, The Casco Viejo (Bilbao’s Old Town and one of its most charming areas), and the seven major streets which make up this area are great for exploring.

The district of Bilbao La Vieja, not to be confused with the Casco Viejo, or Old Town, lies across the river. Ten years ago it was a down-at-heel area, but today it’s Bilbao’s hipster district, which has been likened to Brooklyn’s Williamsburg. At the dinner Cooking class in Bilbao (pintxos and traditional food in Bilbao city centre). Accommodation in Bilbao.

DAY 6

Departure to a Natural Park close to Bilbao, in our private vehicle. Today we will trek in the Natural Park, wich expands 5,768 hectares, constituting a landscape of great natural wealth of high quality in Euskal Herria. A network of paths allows us to know much of the natural, cultural and scenic treasures that this magical place hides. We will walk the paths of the Park and to approach the mountains, forests and rivers, to talk with their people and enjoy the landscape.

Our itinerary finish in a sheep farm, we will be shepherd for a day.

The group will discover the secrets of the awarded Idiazabal cheese, through a participatory workshop to prepare curds and fresh cheese; part of the curds are made with wooden tools reproducing the ancestral knowledge that it’s told that comes from the Neolithic.

The group will share the daily chores of the shepherd: milk the sheep, if there are lambs, give them a bottle, feed the flock with their hand and enjoy the skill of the shepherd dogs, directing the autochthonous flock of Latxa sheep.

Return to Bilbao and free time. In the afternoon, farewell dinner.

DAY 7

Check out and transfer to the airport. Farewell.
